The Quick Fix - a Build Post
For years, when I got a new haircut or color I have wanted to go out to celebrate it.
So tonight we went to Lowe's (and Home Depot) — proving I am Officially Old. Though we did run into another circus family who is far younger and hipper than we are, so...
The dishwasher at Summit is failing. It's a 20+ year-old Bosch, and so in order to get the dishes done you have to hang out while it's running and jiggle the timer along. This is do-able when we are here but not sustainable with renters. So we are giving this Midea dishwasher a try; it's an off-brand, but a good price point and nice features, so worth a shot. Because things are about to get crazy with the summer shows, we even ordered delivery and installation, especially since there's a partial rebate on it.
We also wanted to get replacement knobs for our bathroom sink, which my mom had purchased from Z Galerie many years ago; the cabinet knobs had broken off though the drawer knobs were still holding on.
We hated all the knobs we saw at the stores, but then Patrick remembered I had picked some up at TJ Max a few years back. I had wanted to replace the knobs on the bifold doors (yuck) in our bedroom, but the shanks were too long, so they had just been sitting around. AND he found them right away.
After a quick switch we were in business — for FREE since we already had them — and I think it looks great.
We also have a broken cellular shade in the blue bedroom, so I ordered some new ones off of Amazon since the bricks-and-mortar stores had a truly crappy collection. I'll keep you updated on those, too!
